· 2ND OF DECEMBER, THE YEAR 2002OH THAT’S RIGHT
Oh thatÔøΩs right. I have a weekly-updated web site. Today I have decided to talk about wondrous, marvelous things, like spam. But not spam itself, oh no, dear readers, but things like spam. That is to say, pork products. I happened to enjoy many parts of the noble swine, from their above par intelligence to their adorable little tails to their delectable hindsides. the pig is a beast to behold. I consumed my fair share of them this weekend, predominantly in the form of sausages and bacon, which in my house and on the other side of the Atlantic are known as sausies and rashers. They were delicious. Turkey is also delicious. Turducken sounds delicious, but I have yet to partake of this rare treat. And when I say rare, I mean uncommon, not undercooked, or, perhaps, still living, with blood pounding through its veins in mortal fear of my mighty masticative mashers closing in on its feathery throat. Now, a living Turducken whould be rare in both senses of the word, and might even merit a bad joke or two or three if one were so inclined towards assholery. Creating a living turducken that was alive at all layers of its beatific existence would require a great deal of blood and squawking, and I doubt any butcher alive today would dare attempt such a feat. Just the thought of some deranged twit asking for such a thing taints the entire field of butchery for me and I now have no desire to follow that particular career path. Therefore, perhaps I should continue working on the introduction to my thesis, which, by next Tuesday, should be a well though-out twenty page document summarizing the goals of my research and the background it is based upon, but which at presents reads as follows (in its entirety):
Introduction
Agrobacteirum tumefaciens is a gram negative soil bacterium that causes tumors in a wide range of dicotyledonous plants. Infection depends on a set of operons in the bacterium known as the vir regulon, which is contained entirely within a single plasmid called the Ti (tumor inducing) plasmid. Tumorigenesis begins when the bacterium detects chemical signals from the wound site of a plant, such as acetosyringone. These factors activate a two-component signaling system in Agrobacterium composed of the proteins VirA and VirG
I would show you a picture of my progress on my art project, but it would require effort and photos and whatnot, and I would provide you with some evidence of my lab report due on Friday, but IÔøΩve hardly given it a thought, so as much as youÔøΩve been dying to know what the Km of ONPG is, IÔøΩm afraid youÔøΩll just have to live in ignorance. However, I will allow you to gaze upon this image of strange neon turkeys, just as soon as I get back to my room.
Later that week… Oh right, the turkeys.

For anyone who is also writing a thesis introdcution:
These are due on MONDAY the 9th. So that those who barely scrape together their 20 pages by TUESDAY the tenth, will be, in fact, LATE.
Current page tally:
Em: 6 wholesome recto verso pages of quality information
Ken-ichi: 1 puny paragraph that does not even mention the type IV transport system
apparently, people can tell when i’m working on one of my theses by the look on my face
