HERE’S A GOOD IDEA: WHY

here’s a good idea: why not have state libraries. think about it. what if you had immediate access to a university class library. wouldn’t it be cool to have that kind of research power? it would be awsome! all the books that you could possibly hope for in one building, and have a big computer based search system that has an online mirror, and have lots of periodicals and obscure books and computers and water fountains and art on the walls. and i’m not looking to supplant local libraries or anything. just have one state libraries for a large region of the state, the kind of place that you would only go to for special books that are hard to find. i think its a good idea. of course, ask people if they actually want to pay some higher taxes to fund and maintain that kind of a project, and the aswer would invariably be a big fat stupid “no”. because people are stupid like that. ask people to vote on whether they want to spend even more money on, say, a new super sports complex in every town, and it might actually get voted through. almost makes me want to be commie. oh well, might aswell use the amnesia ray to make them forget how stupid they all are.
