· 12TH OF NOVEMBER, THE YEAR 2005PIGEON POINT 2005

The lighting of the historic Fresnel lens in Pigeon Point lighthouse is the only annual tradition I’ve developed out here in the Bay Area. This year I finally learned from past mistakes, brought a tripod, and took long exposures, with results that I consider none too shabby. Although every year, I’ve gone with different people (Archie and Maggie, this time), the good folks of Tree Frog Treks have always been there (they turned me on to the idea in the first place). This time I just dropped by to say hi, but it’s always good to see them. Too bad I can’t work with them more, but it turns out despising children precludes one from working in the field of children’s education. The tides weren’t agreeable this year, so I didn’t even bother showing up early for some tide-pooling, but there were some nice skyscapes on the ride down.
