THESE AREN’T PLANTS, ANIMALS, OR HISTORICAL OR ARCHAEOLOGICAL ARTIFACTS

Went a-foraging again this weekend, this time along the trail between Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve and Huckleberry Botanic Preserve. I’d been there earlier in the year and the piney ridges and the oak-and-bay valley just seemed like a good, diverse array of fungus habitat. This assessment was correct. I will annotate these images in a day or two.

Elfin saddle

Unidentified coral fungus

Western Jack'o'lantern?

Yellow-eyed ensatina

Amanita magniveruccata?

Chanterelles!

Sulphur cavalier?

Le mise en placeChanterelles in the pan

Served up

Also, Brokeback Mountain is fantastic, and I have poison oak, from last weekend. Pray for me.
