SO GUESS WHAT. THE WORLD

so guess what. the world cup is now taking place in france, and no american really cares. i supose i can see why. its slow to watch, the field is huge so you can’t really make out the individual players, its remarkably low scoring, and generally not quite as exciting as your average american sport. but it is a really good sport. its the most demanding sport i’ve ever played, moth mentally and physically. it takes a unique combination of instinct, intelligence (if you want to call it that), awareness, stamina, and skill to be good at soccer. i guess its more fun to play than to watch. but its still kind of weird that almost every kid in america has been on a soccer team at one time in his/her life, yet still nobody really watches it. it seems like americans have their own group of sports that they watch, and soccer is the sport for the rest of the world. i’d like to know if that’s how other countries view american lack of interest in soccer. nah. they probably just continue thinking that we’re a bunch of commercialist jerks trying to destroy their culture.
