SO. WHO WANTS TO FEEL

so. who wants to feel guilty today? seeing as the most of us (especially the internet community) lead facetious, “pseudo-benevolent” lives (to quote bad religion), i thought i’d provide 2 links that i came across this week that made me feel like a worthless piece of middle class crap.

M c S P O T L I G H T: this i actually don’t feel guilty about. this is the biggest McDonalds detractor on the web. they have multiple articles on McDonalds’ various evils, not excluding their use of beef from cows raised on slashed rain forest, how eating McDonalds food is remarkably bad for you, and how they crush all opposition them with frightening court cases. over 100 mb of articles, court transcripts, links, and other stuff that’ll make you want to never pass under the golden arches again. i know i don’t (not that i really did before).

Earth First!: yes this is the radical almost militant environmentalist organization that you’ve probably heard of. their edict is to protect the earth from further human intrusion at all costs. they believe that human’s should protect nature for the sole purpose of having wilderness, and that we as humans have no right to destroy the wild places. they’re those guys who you saw in those wood forts trying to stop loggers in the pacific north west. i don’t agree with all their policies, but the fact that they are actually doing something serious about human destruction of the remaining wild places while i sit at home and watch tv and simply agree makes me sick to my stomach.
