you know what’s bad? the fact that hurricaine george has claimed something like 300 lives in the carribean (see, i don’t even know how many) and not a single american gives a damn. sure, there’s a few newspaper headlines, some mention on the Weather Channel of the fact that so many people died, and maybe even an odd expression of perfunctory grief over this “tragic incident”, but nobody cares. now, the second one person is found dead in the florida keys or louisiana, it’s gonna be a national tragedy and hurricaine george is gonna be the killer of 98. oh, unless the person killed is some kind of border hopping refugee. that’d be an exception. let the good times role.
