· 30TH OF MARCH, THE YEAR 2005BIRDSONG ON FRESH AIR
Terri Gross recently did a neat interview with an ornithologist and the author of the new book, The Singing Life of Birds. For those of you who were charmed and mystified by the song of the wood thrush in the forests of New England, or who studied bird song in past lives, take a listen. Very cool stuff, especially when they slow down the songs, or when they separate the sounds from the right and left larynx of the thrush. Wood thrush song reminds me of lazy summer twilights spent reading on my deck. Le sigh.
