BETTER LIVING THROUGH CHEMISTRY

Caffeine creates a sense of urgency. When I’m on it, everything I’m doing or thinking seems important and interesting and worthwhile, or my worries seem particularly terrifying and jarring. Ethanol locks me into a mood. This can be a good thing, if I’m happy and relaxed to begin with, but it’s decidedly bad if I start out with the glass half empty. Hm, mixing metaphors.

I’m sure everybody else figured out their own ways to abstract experiences with drugs back in high school. I’m just glad more potent substances are illegal, or I’d really be screwed.
