PIERCING INSIGHT

It just occurred to me that in the world of computer geekery, passwords are like genitals. Everyone has them, of course, but when some one next to you has to use their’s, you considerately look away. When you hear about people who show each other their passwords willy nilly, it elicits a sort of Puritanical huff. How can people consent to such wanton indecency? At the UNIX command prompt, however, a command like

>genitl

probably won’t have an effect similar to

>passwd
