COMCAST CABLE INTERNET AND MY WRT54G

We finally said to hell with SBC and got Comcast Cable internet, which is certainly faster and, in all probability, less prone to random outages. The install guy had some trouble using our computers to set up the modem, so he used his own. Had some trouble getting the wireless router to work, but I could use my PBook when directly connected to the modem. I found a forum thread somewhere that recommended cloning my PBook’s ethernet MAC address into the router, essentially making the modem think it was connected directly to my PBook, and that did the trick. The router’s setup page autodetected the MAC address and everything.
